Made from pure Australian a2 Milk® which is high in calcium and can be enjoyed by the whole family*. Packaged for convenience, a2 Milk® Full Cream UHT is stable at room temperature.
a2 Milk® Full Cream UHT is long life milk with a longer shelf life than normal refrigerated milk.
*Cow’s milk should not be given as the main drink to infants under 12 months.
It all starts with the cows. We conduct a simple DNA test on a tissue sample taken from the cows to identify cows that naturally produce milk with only A2-type beta-casein protein and no A1 protein. Every batch is then tested again before it reaches your table, so you can feel confident in what you're drinking.
The result? Milk that may be easier on digestion for some people*, with all the goodness of natural dairy milk.
Yes, UHT milk is also known as long life milk or long lasting milk. It is shelf stable milk that has been treated at a high temperature. a2 Milk® Full Cream UHT can be used in the same way as other milk.
UHT stands for “Ultra Heat Treated”, a process that makes long life milk shelf stable. Both ordinary milk and UHT milk are heated before being packaged. To produce our full cream UHT milk, regular a2 Milk® Full Cream is heated usually in the range of 135–150°C for a short period to remove all bacteria and give the milk a longer shelf life. Ordinary refrigerated milk is also heated to control bacteria and enzymes in a process called pasteurisation, but at a much lower than UHT. It has to be kept refrigerated and used sooner than a2 Milk® Full Cream UHT.
UHT milk has a longer shelf life than ordinary refrigerated milk. An unopened package of longer life milk can stay outside of the fridge for months. Once a carton of a2 Milk® Full cream UHT is opened, it should be kept in the fridge and used in the same time frame as other milk. You can use a2 Milk® Full Cream UHT the same way you would use other milk. Check out our recipes for ways to use long life milk.
a2 Milk® Full cream UHT can be stored at room temperature for months. It has many uses including:
UHT and fresh milk generally contain the same major nutrients like protein and calcium. The high temperature processing of UHT destroys some heat-sensitive nutrients that are present in milk in very low levels anyway.
