The a2 Milk® difference

It all starts with the cows. We conduct a simple DNA test on a tissue sample taken from the cows to identify cows that naturally produce milk with only A2-type beta-casein protein and no A1 protein. Every batch is then tested again before it reaches your fridge, so you can feel confident in what you're drinking.

The result? Milk that may be easier on digestion for some people*, with all the goodness of natural dairy milk.

*a2 Milk® is naturally A1 protein free, so it may be easier on digestion than ordinary milk for some milk intolerant individuals, when consumed as part of a health varied diet.

FAQs

What is the difference between light milk vs full cream milk?

Light milk refers to full cream milk that has had most of its fat content removed. It is lower in calories and fat while retaining other nutrients found in whole milk, such as protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals.

a2 Milk® Light contains less fat than a2 Milk® Full Cream, but still has a deliciously creamy, smooth consistency.

What is skim vs light milk?

Skim milk, like a2 Milk® No Fat, is milk that has had almost all of the fat removed. Low fat milk, or light milk, has had part, but not all of the fat removed.

How much fat is there in a2 Milk® Light?

a2 Milk® Light contains 1.3 g of fat per 100 mL, making it a natural choice for those who prefer milk products that are lower in fat.

What are the nutritional benefits of light milk?

Light milk contains less fat and fewer kilojoules than full cream milk, while remaining a source of protein and calcium.

Does a2 Milk® Light contain lactose?

Yes. For a lactose free option, we offer a2 Milk® Lactose Free Light. It has the same delicious taste of a2 Milk® Light, is naturally free of the A1 protein, and contains no lactose.

How can I use a2 Milk® Light?

a2 Milk® Light can be used the same way as any full cream milk or low-fat milk. Check out our recipes for inspiration.
